In the table below, the notation (x,y] represents the interval x to y which excludes x but includes y. For example, (0,1/2] is the range 0 < z <= 1/2.

Interpretation of Results

How should you react to the assessment? First, it is not uncommon to get a score of between 2 and 4. The reasons are varied.

• Homework 1 will give you an opportunity to practice some C/C++.
• Learn from your mistakes. Look at the solution. The partial solution to Homework 1 contains some code from the assessment that you can compile and run to see what should happen.
• If a solution is still unclear, discuss it with a grader/consultant.
