- Introduction
- Spy Hunter 97 was developed to allow players of the classic game from Atari
and Nintendo to play the game on their PC. The goal was to create a game with
good game play, good artificial intelligence, and good user interface and
present it in a profession manner suitable for production
- Problem Description
- This project was much more difficult than one of the MPs from the semester.
Some of the challanges included artifical intelligence, collision detection,
background scrolling, differential velocities, and interfacing with the sound
and graphics hardware. It is different from a standard MP in that it interfaces
with hardware that has never been interfaced with. The characters in the game
that have a mind of their own instead of a predetermined path while all cars
have the possibility of hitting any other car. This collision detection and
handling provided a challenge that is beyond the scope of a MP.
